SCIOTO MOVES TO 4-0!!!

The Irish jumped to a 25-9 lead after the first quarter and went on to defeat Westland 77-44. The story of this game is similar to the previous games, with Scioto coming out with a lot of energy, intense defense, hitting the boards hard, and playing unselfish team ball. Scioto moved out to a 43-26 halftime lead with Ben Ashwill contributing 13 first half points.

The Irish outscored the Cougars 18-15 in the 3d quarter with Blair Gorniak using his muscle on the inside to contribute 10 3d quarter points, many on offensive rebound putbacks. The Irish finished out the game by outscoring Westland 16-3 in the 4th quarter with Marco St.John and Bradley McDougald contributing 5 pts each.

This team showed tonight that they have a number of players that can contribute in many ways. Blair Gorniak led the scoring with 19 points and a strong rebounding effort. Bradley McDougald chipped in with 16, followed by Marco St John and Ben Ashwill with 14 and 13 respectively. Kyle Duncan provided 5 points on two key 2d quarter baskets when Westland was making a bit of a run. DJ Olatoye added 4 points and provided havoc on defense, while David McKinley added 4 before leaving early in the game with an injury. Rainer Duzan added a basket on a nice offensive rebound put back.

The Irish's next game is Friday, Dec 21st at home against Olentangy Liberty, followed by a game Saturday night against Independence.
