SCIOTO MOVES TO 15-0
Dublin Scioto defeated Big Walnut by the score of 60-50 to move to 15-0 overall. Scioto also moved to 6-0 in the conference and
2 games ahead of both Big Walnut and New Albany for first place.
The Irish held a 24-18 halftime lead despite shooting just 5 out of 14 from the free throw line in the first half. Big Walnut found
themselves down 36-28 to start the fourth quarter before the Irish scored the first 6 points in the 4th quarter pushing the lead out to
42-28. At that point Big Walnut decided their best chance was to foul the Irish and hope that their free throw shooting
woes would continue. The Irish did improve in the 4th quarter enough to hold on for the win, hitting 16 out of 23 free throws in
the fourth quarter.
Bradley McDougald led the scoring with 22 points, including two three pointers. Ben Ashwill added 12, including 6 at the start of the 4th
quarter before fouling out with 5 minutes remaining. Blair Gorniak added 9, Marco St John 7 and Kyle Duncan and David McKinley 5 each.
The Irish are back in action on Friday night at home against Watkins Memorial.
