SCIOTO CLINCHES AT LEAST A TIE FOR CONFERENCE TITLE, NOW 17-0

Dublin Scioto defeated Olentangy Liberty by the score of 77-40 to clinch at least a tie for the OCC Capital Division Title.

Olentangy took a 9-8 lead early in the first quarter before Scioto turned it on and went on a 15-4 run to take a 23-12 lead after the 1st quarter. DJ Olatoye provided a spark off the bench leading a balanced attach in the 1st quarter with 6 points, while Bradley McDougald, Marco St John and Blair Gorniak added 5 each. Scioto continued to roll in the 2d quarter pushing the lead out to 37-20 at haltime. Blair Gorniak led 2d quarter scorers with 7, while David McKinley added 4.

Scioto continued to extend the lead in the 3d quarter causing numerous turnovers that led to a number of easy baskets. For the night, Blair Gorniak led 5 players in double figures with 18, followed by David McKinley with 13, and Bradley McDougald, Marco St John and DJ Olaytoye with 11 each. Other scorers for Scioto were Eric Stamets with 6, Ben Ashwill 5 and Rainer Duzan with 2.

The Irish are back in action on Saturday Feb 2d against a tough Big Walnut team at Big Walnut.
