Around the Cardinal Division this week.

Two of the three Westerville teams won their games this week at the Rotary Classic hosted by Otterbein College. Westerville Central dropped Jonathan Alder 62-50 and Westerville South beat New Albany 64-41. Westerville North lost 64-60 to OCC Capital contender Delaware. The Warriors were coming off a big win at Newark the previous weekend. They beat the defending Division I state champs 49-46. In a Union County battle on December 30, Marysville edged Fairbanks 46-42. Liberty fell to Delaware 55-45, while Olentangy beat Big Walnut 51-46.

Irish opponents post impressive record.

Through December 30, the first eight Irish opponents have posted a combined 30-15 record in games not involving Scioto.

Varsity girls now 7-1

The Irish girls team visited Hilliard Darby on December 30 and posted a 56-43 victory. The Lady Irish are 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the OCC Cardinal. Their lone loss was a 61-60 overtime heartbreaker at 9-0 Delaware.
