JV RALLY FALLS SHORT AT INDEPENDENCE
The Irish JV team rallied from 10 points down entering the fourth quarter, but fell short in a 49-45 loss at Independence.
Scioto trailed early and faced a 29-18 halftime deficit. They outscored Independence 13-12 in the third quarter and trailed
41-31 entering the final stanza.
They still trailed 49-42 in the final minute, but a J.R. Bernans trey on a feed from Jordan Emerson cut the lead to
49-45. The Irish pressured the 76ers, forcing a timeout and then a turnover.
Gabe McGlone took an open trey that went all the way in the basked and popped back out with 12 seconds to go. Bernans
got another steal, but the 76ers rebounded another missed Irish trey to close out the win.
The loss evens the JV record at 3-3. Raneal Ewing led the Irish in scoring with 16 points. Other players in the
scoring column were: Max Brundige (9), Bernans (6) McGlone (6), Jacob McPheters (6) and Mitchell Flowers (2).
Brundige and McGlone led the way with 4 rebounds each. Brundige had 3 blocked shots, and, Ewing and McPheters had 2
assists apiece.
