QUICK START, LATE FREE THROWS LEAD TO JV WIN

The Irish JV team jumped out to a 31-16 halftime lead and weather a couple of Westerville North runs in the fourth quarter by hitting their free throws on the way to a 48-40 win.

Westerville North ratcheted up the defense in the third quarter and held the Irish to 5 points. They were able to cut the lead to 9 points at 36-27. Heading into the final 3 minutes they only trailed 38-34 when sophomore wing J.R. Bernans went to the line on four consecutive possessions between 2:52 and 1:05.

He missed his first and made six consecutive tries before missing his last attempt. This helped the Irish build a 44-36 lead.

Max Brundige had 6 points and a team high 7 rebounds. Jacob McPheters had 5 points and a game high 4 assists. Gabe McGlone (4) and Dom Rosso (3) rounded out the scoring.
