IRISH FALL TO WESTERVILLE NORTH

An undersized Scioto, playing without big man Jamare Mills, fell to Westerville North by the score of 61-40. Raneal Ewing came out strong for the Irish, scoring 8 quick points as the Irish built an early 10-5 lead. Ewing, however, picked up two quick fouls and sat the remainder of the period as North went on a run to take a 22-14 lead at the end of the quarter. In addition to Ewing's 8 points, Justin Craig added 4 and Joshua Ashwill 2.

Both teams found the scoring a little more difficult in the second quarter, as North extended their lead to 34-20 at the half. In the second quarter, Ashwill had 3, Ewing 2 and Ryan Gibson 1 for the Irish.

Scioto hung around during the 3d quarter as they won the quarter 13-12 and were trailing 46-33 after three. For the quarter, Ashwill had 6 points, Craig 5 and Antonio Bisutti 2.

For the night, Irish scoring was led by Ashwill with 14, Ewing with 12, Craig with 9, Bisutti and Jalen Johnson with 2 each, and Gibson with 1.

The Irish record is now 2-2, including 1-2 in the conference.

IRISH JV FALL

The Irish JV fell to Westerville North by the score of 66-55. The Irish held a 10-9 lead after one quarter as Dominic Madison and Chase Sult scored 5 points each.

North took the lead for good in the 2d quarter and led 24-20 at halftime. During the quarter, Madison and Sult each added a three pointer, while Abdull Abdullahi and Tyler Zack scored 2 each.

North extended their lead in the 3d quarter, taking a 48-36 lead into the 4th. Third quarter scoring was led by Madison with 8, Sult with 6 and Braxton Wallace with 2.

The Irish made a run in the 4th quarter, cutting the deficit to 59-52 and having a couple of chances to make it even closer, but came up short. Madision added 8 more points in the quarter, while Aaron Strausbaugh contributed 6, Wallace 3 and Darius McDonald 2. Wallace also had a number of assists.

For the night, Irish scoring was led by Madison with 24, Sult with 14, Strausbaugh with 6, Wallace with 5, and Abdullahi, Zack and McDonald with 2 each.

The Irish record is now 2-2, including 2-1 in the conference.


FROSH FALL TO NORTH

The Irish Freshmen fell to Westerville North by the score of 50-37. The Irish trailed 11-9 after one quarter as Zac Brown contributed 5 points, Darius McDonald 4 and Andrew McKinley 2.

The Irish trailed 22-16 at the half. Kalib Wallace had 3 points in the quarter, while Brown and Jack Flood added 2 each.

Slowly but surely, North continued to build on their lead and led 35-26 after 3. Five different players contributed 2 points each in the quarter; McDonald, Brown, McKinley, Flood and Wallace. The highlight for the quarter was a nice back door alley-oop pass and basket from Spencer Talentino to Wallace.

In the fourth quarter, the Irish went to the 3 ball to try and climb back into the game, as McKinley, Flood and Evan Ekis each contributed 3 points in the quarter on a 3 point basket each. Also, Wallace added 2 points.

For the night, Irish scoring was led by Brown with 8, McKinley, Flood and Wallace with 7 each, McDonald with 5 and Ekis with 3.

The Irish record is now 1-3, including 1-2 in the conference.
