IRISH TAKE CARE OF CELTICS - NOW 7-0!!!
Dublin Scioto came out of the gates focused and ready to play, putting together a strong effort from start to finish in defeating a very
good Dublin Jerome (5-2) team 72-42.
The game was a typical display of Irish basketball - great effort, great ball movement and great teamwork leading to a number of easy baskets
inside.
Scioto jumped out to an 18-7 first quarter lead and never looked back. Blair Gorniak had 6 1st quarter points to lead the Irish, while Ben
Ashwill added 4. The 2d quarter belonged to Bradley McDougald, who scored 11 points including three 3-pointers as the Irish pushed their lead to
31-16 at halftime.
The 3d quarter scoring was balanced with Blair Gorniak leading the way with 6, while Ben Ashwill and Bradley McDougald added 5 each, and Marco St John
contributed 4. The 4th quarter charge was led by Eric Stamets with 6, Blair Gorniak and Marco St John with 4 each, David Mckinley with 3 and Ben Ashwill
and Rainer Duzan with 2 each.
Contributions were plentiful again tonight, with Bradley McDougald and Blair Gorniak leading the scoring with 18 each. Bradley McDougald found the range
from long distance connecting on 4 three pointers for the night. Ben Ashwill added 11 points and 3 blocked shots, while Marco St John contributed 10. Eric
Stamets added 6 points. David McKinley, returning after missing most of 3 games due to injury, contributed 5 points and again did a great job handling the ball,
while Rainer Duzan chipped in with 2 points and great effort on defense. Kyle Duncan added 2 points to round out the scoring.
The next game is at home on Saturday Dec 29th against Dublin Coffman.
