Cold shooting the entire night, coupled with a hot first half by Teays Valley, especially Nate Anderson who finished
with 31 points, were too much for the Irish to overcome in falling to Teays Valley by the score of 48-39.
The Irish fell behind 16-7 after one quarter, as Raneal Ewing scored all 7 Irish points. The Irish fared no better
in the second quarter, and found themselves trailing 29-11 at the half. Unofficially the Irish shot 6 out or 25 from
the field in the first half, and 0 for 2 from the foul line. Antonio Bisutti and Joshua Ashwill each scored 2 points
for the Irish in the 2nd quarter.
The Irish managed ten points in the third quarter, while holding Teays Valley to just 6, but still trailed 35-21 entering
the fourth. Ewing added 4 more in the quarter, as did Ryan Duncan. Duncan's final 2 came on a buzzer beater putback
after an offensive rebound. Justin Craig also scored 2 in the quarter assisted by Jalen Johnson.
After falling behind 39-21 with 6:54 remaining, the Irish went on a 15-3 run to close to within 42-36 with about 3
minutes remaining. The run included some solid defense which caused some turnovers, and second chance opportunities
on the offensive boards. Ewing had 7 points during the run, while Duncan had 3 and Bisutti and Ashwill 2 each. The
Irish had three opportunites on an ensuing possession, but could not convert on any before Teays Valley scored to
take a 44-36 lead. Bisutti connected on a pair of free throws to again cut the lead to 44-38 with 1:23 remaining, but
missed free throw opportunities to get closer and the Irish were forced to foul. Teays Valley converted their free
throws down the stretch to pull away with the 48-39 victory. For the night, unofficially the Irish finished shooting
13 out of 57 from the field.
The Irish finish the season at 8-13, including 4-10 in the OCC Cardinal Divsion, good enough for a fifth place tie
with Dublin Jerome, and ahead of Olentangy and Marysville.
