IRISH FINISH FIRST HALF OF OCC PLAY THIS FRIDAY AGAINST MARYSVILLE

The Irish will complete the first round of OCC Cardinal Division play with a home game against the Marysville Monarchs on Friday, January 16.

It will be Davis Middle School night at Scioto and the boys 7th and 8th grade teams will be introduced at halftime of the varsity game. Currently, the 8th grade squad is 8-1 and the 7th graders are 9-0.

Thus far this season, the Monarchs and Irish are headed different directions. Marysville is 2-8 overall and looking for its first league win. Scioto is undefeated in league play at 6-0 and 9-1 overall.

Marysville is led by guards Jon Fridley (5-10 SR) and Trevor Morris (6-1 JR), forward Mike Romesburg (6-5 JR) and, center Braden Short (6-4 SR). In their last outing, the Monarchs fell 64-51 to Bellefontaine. Short led them in scoring with 16 points and Romesburg added 12.

The freshman game is scheduled to tip at 4:30 p.m. followed by the JV and Varsity games.
