DMac THIRD IRISH PLAYER NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-OHIO
Senior guard David McKinley has been named to the Division I Academic All-Ohio Basketball Team sponsored by the Ohio High
School Basketball Coaches Association.
He is the third Irish player to earn this recognition, following Clark Crum (2006) and Kelly Winter (2007). There are 200
Division I schools eligible to submit nominations for this honor from among their senior basketball players.
Each season the association selects 10 male and female players in each division based upon academic excellence and
contributions to their teams. This is the 16th year that OHSBCA has named Academic All-Ohio teams.
DMac carries a cumulative GPA of more than 3.8 on a 4.0 scale and is a member of the National Honor Society. He is taking
college preparatory and honors courses at DSHS.
On the basketball floor he helped lead his team to 24-2 record, second consecutive district championship and third
consecutive undefeated and outright Ohio Capital Conference league championship. He joined four of his teammates in
receiving all-OCC honors and was named honorable mention all-district.
He earned an OHSBCA silver certificate as a junior and will receive a gold certificate as a senior for earning a cumulative
GPA of 3.2 or better while exemplifying citizenship and sportsmanship.
Note: Once the entire list of players named is released a link will be shared on this website.
