Dublin Scioto fell to Westerville North by the score of 57-26. After Scioto took an early 5-3 lead, North when on a 25-0 run to pull ahead 28-5. The Irish
struggled all night to find any type of offense. Solid defense in the first quarter kept the game close as the Irish trailed 9-5 after one, however North
got hot in the 2d quarter outscoring the Irish 23-2 to take a 32-7 halftime lead.
JR Bernans came off the bench and scored 8 points to lead the Irish. Other Irish scorers were Gabe McGlone and Joshua Ashwill with 5 each, and Jacob McPheters,
Antonio Bisutti, Jeremy Nsumbe and Jalen Johnson with 2 each.
In a game that was close throughout, the Irish JV came through in overtime to defeat North by the score of 62-60. The Irish led 11-9 after one, 27-23 at
half, and 40-38 after 3. Scioto led 55-53 after Ryan Gibson made 2 free throws with 1:13 left in regulation, but North tied the game with 13 seconds to go
and send it into overtime. A three pointer by Austin Mooney with 1:35 to go in OT gave the Irish a 59-55 lead, but North rallied to tie the game at 60. North
had the ball with 6.7 seconds to go, when Ryan Gibson made a steal and called timeout with 5 seconds to go. The Irish inbounded the ball, and Patrick Rooney
drove three quarters court and banked in a runner as time expired for the Irish victory, their 5th win in their last 6 games.
Rooney was leading scorer with 16 points. Ryan Duncan added 9, Gibson and Joshua Ashwill 8 each, Jalen Johnson 7, Travis Yates and Mooney 6 each,
and Tyler Flaherty 2.
The Irish freshmen fell into a deep hole early falling behind 19-2, and trailed 38-19 after three quarters, then put together a great fourth quarter that
fell just short, as the Irish eventually fell 49-40 at Westerville North. While nothing would fall for the Irish in the first, everything fell in the 4th
as the Irish pulled to within six with a couple of minutes to play. The Irish outscored North 21-11 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't quite enough.
Grant Anderson led the Irish with 13 points, all in the second half. Braxton Wallace added 9, Chase Sult and Tim Shadoan 8 each, and Evan Demars 2 for the
Irish.
