COACH B, BRADLEY MCDOUGALD EARN STATE HONORS
All-Ohio honors were released by the Associated Press for Divisions I and II on March 23 and two members of the Irish
program were recognized.
Coach Tony Bisutti was named Division I Coach of the Year along with coaches from Cincinnati Princeton, Lorain Admiral King
and Barberton. Guard Bradley McDougald was named honorable mention all-state.
This marks the third honor Coach B has received this season. He was previously named OCC Cardinal Division and Division I
Central District Coach of the Year.
There are two remaining coaching honors to be announced – the Columbus Dispatch All Metro this weekend and the District 10
Coaches Association in April -- and there is a strong possibility that he could sweep all five.
He would be the first to say that it is a reflection on the entire staff and players which was made possible by the
outstanding season.
As the only coach at Scioto since the school opened, he has guided the Irish to a 228-91 record and a .715 winning
percentage over the last 14 seasons. They have gone 66-6 over the last three seasons and won all 34 OCC games during that
timeframe. The six losses have come by a combined total of 25 points. They have won back-to-back district championships and
made the deepest tournament run in school history by making the regional finals.
He has 335 coaching wins overall and won Division II State Coach of the Year at his alma mater Columbus DeSales in 1993.
Bradley became the sixth Irish player to earn all-state recognition.
Mike Heine earned third team all-state in 2002 and was special mention in 2001. Ish Kamara was special mention in 1999 and
honorable mention in 1998, while his brother Al, was special mention in 1997.
Earning honorable mention were Irish assistant Coach Mike Fiebig in 2001 and Ben Ashwill in 2008.
Four area players were named to the Division I first three teams including: Jared Sullinger of Northland (first team and
Division I Player of the Year), Jon Smith of Grove City (second team), Tanner Furno of Whetstone (third team) and Anthony
Jackson of Westland (third team).
