FROSH DROP COFFMAN 59-41

The Irish freshman team jumped out to a 21-9 first quarter lead and won all four quarters on their way to a 59-41 non-league win at Dublin Coffman on Tuesday.

Eight different Irish players scored in the game, led by wing Jamyl Copeland with 16 points. Post Matt Strausbaugh was next with 11 points, including 7 in the first quarter.

Other Irish players who scored were: Jeremie Nsumbu (9), Gabe McGlone (7), Ryan Duncan (6), Ryan Gibson (5), Austin Mooney (3) and Tyler Flaherty (2).

After dominating the first quarter, the Irish outscored Coffman in all three remaining quarters to establish the final margin.

Both teams entered the game with 10-3 records. Scioto will host Dublin Jerome on Friday and begin play in the Reynoldsburg Freshman Tournament on Saturday.
