FRESHMEN FINISH 3-0 AGAINST DUBLIN TEAMS
Jumping out to a 9-1 first quarter lead, the Irish freshmen held off Jerome for a 43-32 win in league play on Friday.
The victory gave the Irish a season sweep over the Celtics and combined with a win earlier this week over Coffman gives
them a 3-0 record this season against fellow Dublin teams. The victory moves the Irish to 12-3 overall and 10-3 in league
play heading into the Reynoldsburg Freshman Tournament and a final league game at Marysville next Friday.
The Irish built a 15-6 halftime lead, but only led 25-19 heading into the fourth quarter. Jerome sent Scioto to the line
in an effort to cut into the lead in the fourth quarter and the Irish responded by hitting 12-20 free throws in the final
stanza.
Ryan Duncan (11) and Jeremie Nsumbu (10) scored in double figures for the Irish. Others in the scoring column were: Jamyl
Copeland (5), Ryan Gibson (5), Kris Simonton (5), Tyler Flaherty (2), Austin Mooney (2), Matt Strausbaugh (2) and Patrick
Rooney (1).
