SECOND HALF SURGE SPURS FRESHMEN
Outscoring Jerome 27-13 in the second half, the Irish freshmen cruised to a 54-34 OCC Cardinal win over Jerome.
They led 27-21 at the half, but went on a 7-0 run in the first four minutes of the third quarter to build a double
digit lead. Jerome stayed close for a while by hitting three consecutive treys in the third quarter.
The Irish won all four quarters in the game and closed it with a 14-4 fourth quarter. They are 6-1 overall and 5-1 in
the Cardinal Division.
Sharing game high scoring honors were Jamyl Copeland and Tyler Flaherty with 13 points. Also in the scoring column
were: Jeremie Nsumbu (10), Gabe McGlone (6), Ryan Duncan (4), Ryan Gibson (4), Kevin McMahon (2) and Kris Simonton (2).
Earlier in the week, the Irish edged Olentangy Liberty 40-36 in a game that was close all the way. Nsumbu was the leading
scorer with 12. Flaherty chipped in 10 points. Also scoring for the Irish: Copeland (9), McGlone (5), Duncan (2) and
Simonton (2).
