THIRD QUARTER DOWNFALL FOR IRISH JVS
Scioto’s JV squad was outscored 16-9 in the third quarter and played catch-up the rest of the way in a 54-46 loss to
Jerome on Friday night.
They went to the locker at halftime with momentum and only trailed 21-19. A quick start by the Celtics gave them a double
digit advantage and they were never headed.
They shot 59 percent from the field for the game, but were only 13-23 at the free throw line and that gave the Irish an
opportunity to stay in the game. However, the Irish weren’t hitting enough shots from the field to cut the lead below 6
or 7 points.
For the game, Scioto shot 36 percent from the field and hit 5-25 three point shots. Jerome also had a 31-20 rebounding
advantage on the night.
Raneal Ewing (14) and J.R. Bernans (12) led the Irish in scoring. Also putting points on the board were: Jacob McPheters
(5), Max Brundige (4), Gabe McGlone (4), Tervon Moore (4), and Dom Rosso (3). Ewing led the way with 5 rebounds and
McPheters had 3 assists.
Sean Sward had game highs of 21 points and 7 rebounds for the Celtics. TEST
